Roger Waters kicked off his set at Newport Folk Festival last night with a major surprise. With the backing of My Morning Jacket and Lucius, the Pink Floyd legend debuted a brand new song called “Crystal Clear”. “For the first time ever in public, I’m going to play the piano and sing a song,” Waters said prior to the performance. Watch fan-shot footage below.

Waters didn’t specify the song’s origins. However, he is said to be working on a new solo album, his first since 1992’s Amused to Death. And speaking of Amused to Death, just yesterday Waters release a remixed version of the album.
