Aussie rocker goes back to her roots for secret show

Over the last few days, giant posters with the title of Courtney Barnett’s latest single, “Nobody Cares if You Don’t Go to the Party”, have been showing up in cities all over the world. On Monday, one more went up in Camden, London, this time revealing the spot of a “secret busking show” that turned out to be a video shoot.

On a sidewalk crowded with social media-savvy fans and curious passersby, Barnett and her band ran through the Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit track, followed by a full 30 minute set. The performance was captured on various types of digital film and cut together for the video you see below.

Coinciding with the video premiere, Barnett has launched the “Wanna Go Out? Wanna Stay Home?” contest. The winner of the “go out” competition will get tickets to an upcoming concert, while the “stay in” winner will receive a Courtney Barnett merch and vinyl package, plus a record player.
