Deafheaven shares monster new song “Brought to the Water” — listen

Our first official look at forthcoming album New Bermuda

On October 2nd, Deafheaven will return with their latest album, New Bermuda, via ANTI-. Up until today, the only preview we’ve had was in the form of an album trailer. Now, though, the black metal revivalists have finally broken off the first single in “Brought to the Water”.

Spanning nearly nine minutes, the LP opener is an unnerving number full of ghastly wails and melodies that have a way of morphing from hopeful relief to devastating tension in two seconds flat. Listen in below.

“We wanted to share ‘Brought to the Water’ first because it gives a good idea of the overall sonic tone of the record,” says frontman George Clarke, “and really evokes feelings that come with uprooting and throwing oneself into the complacent, monotonous routine of adulthood.”

In support of New Bermuda, the band will tour North America this fall.

New Bermuda Tracklist:
01. Brought to the Water
02. Luna
03. Baby Blue
