It’s been over four years since Jamie Woon let loose his debut album, Mirrorwriting. In that time, the British singer and one-time Burial collaborator has stayed out of the limelight, emerging briefly to contribute to Portico’s Living Fields LP alongside Joe Newman of alt-J.
Now, it looks as though Woon’s finally ready to resume his place in the neo-soul/alt R&B world, a corner of the music biz inhabited by the likes of Jamie Lidell and James Blake (“J” names are a running theme, it seems). Ahead of his as-yet-untitled full-length, due out later this year through PMR Records (Disclosure, Jessie Ware), Woon has shared “Sharpness”, a pillowy number and promising indicator of things to come.
