Mac DeMarco says he doesn’t like to make a big to-do about turning a year older, so instead of throwing a big birthday celebration this year, he drove to upstate New York by himself. There, he purchased a small rowboat from a kind old man, and brought it all the way back to Queens. It’s in that very same boat that the jizz jazzer took a late afternoon trip into the bay by his Far Rockaway home and performed a stripped-down version of Another One’s “No Other Heart” for NPR.
