Mos Def joins Kendrick Lamar for “Alright” at Osheaga — watch

Rapper Yasiin Bey, aka Mos Def, made a rare live appearance during Kendrick Lamar’s headlining set at Osheaga Music Festival on Saturday.

According to Pigeons and Planes, Mos Def was watching Kendrick’s performance from the side of the stage. After some prodding by Kendrick, he finally hit the stage and danced along to “King Kunta”. He then spit out a freestyle during “Alright”. Watch fan-shot video below.

Kendrick reportedly told the audience that Mos Def was the reason he began rapping.
