It was less than two weeks ago when Ryan Adams first let out word of his intention to cover Taylor Swift’s 1989 in full. Though many scoffed at the idea of the alt-folk icon reworking the year’s biggest pop album, Adams was quite serious in his quest. So much, in fact, that he’s already finished.

Since announcing the album, Adams has spent each night in the studio, documenting his progress via Twitter and Instagram. According to a status update posted last night, the album is officially finished and is currently being mixed.

Not only that, but Adams shared two extended clips of the effort: “Style” and “Blank Space”. It may not be in the style of The Smiths, but it sounds good nonetheless.
