Sylvan Esso, the synthpop duo compromised of Amelia Meath and Nick Sanborn, has spent the better part of 2015 on the festival circuit, performing for crowds at Bonnaroo, Sasquatch!, and Coachella. This week, they take a break from the stage to gift us with “Jamie’s Song”, one of the first pieces of new music since last year’s self-titled debut.

Equal parts glimmering and melancholy, the number was written for a recent episode of WNYC’s Radiolab podcast, which tells the story of someone living with bipolar disorder. As SPIN notes, some of the track’s lyrics are inspired by actual quotes from the person in question. Listen in below.
