When last we saw Colin Farrell, he was wading through a frustrating murder investigation in the HBO series True Detective. The Irish actor will take on a decidedly different role in his next on-screen appearance.

The Lobster stars Farrell as a man living in a dystopian future that requires all single people to find love or risk being turned into wild animals. As the film’s title suggests, Farrell opts to be an underwater crustacean.

Also starring Rachel Weisz and John C. Reilly, under the direction of Yorgos Lanthimos (Dogtooth), The Lobster is receiving a healthy amount of Oscar buzz following its well-received premiere at Cannes this summer. The film will screen in theaters beginning in October. In anticipation, watch the first full-length trailer below.
