Plenty of folks have turned in covers of The Replacements’ classic queer gender anthem “Androgynous”. As a person actually living their life as genderfluid, however, perhaps no one has turned in a more apt rendition than this new one by Ezra Furman. Dipped gingerly in reverb, Furman’s acoustic version vibrates with tangible personal connection. Furman’s cover of “Androgynous” will be featured on the forthcoming deluxe edition of his recent album, Perpetual Motion People.
