As more and more festivals announce their 2016 lineups, it’s clear that festival fatigue has already set in. The complains are rolling in about stale bills, repeat headliners, and unimaginative undercards. Leave it to an upstart Atlanta festival to break the mold. If original bookings is what you’re looking for, Shaky Knees Music Festival is here to wow you.
Taking place May 20th – 22nd in Centennial Olympic Park, the fourth annual Shaky Knees will be headlined by Florence and the Machine, My Morning Jacket, and Jane’s Addiction. Now if that doesn’t seem like the most out-of-the-box trio, take note that the latter is performing Ritual De La Habitual in its entirety. And they’re not the only ones doing it; Huey Lewis and the News will be there doing Sports straight through. You know this guy is gonna be there.
Still unconvinced? Here’s just a sampling of the rest of the bill: At the Drive-In, Deftones, Explosions in the Sky, The Decemberists, The Kills, Foals, Young the Giant, Eagles of Death Metal, Bloc Party, Phosphorescent, Against Me!, Savages, Frightened Rabbit, The Gaslight Anthem’s Brian Fallon, Silversun Pickups, Baroness, The Sword, Wolf Alice, Parquet Courts, The Orwells, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, The Head and the Heart, Ghost, Cold War Kids, The Dear Hunter, Houndmouth, Strand of Oaks, Delta Spirit’s Matt Vasquez, Wild Nothing, Hop Along, All Them Witches, Nothing, Alex G, and Ought.
