La Sera, the indie rock duo comprised of former Vivian Girls bassist Katy Goodman and guitarist Todd Wisenbaker, will release their new album, Music For Listening To Music To, on March 4th through Polyvinyl. In anticipation, the LP is streaming in full below courtesy of EW.com.
The new record marks the band’s fourth to date following 2014’s well-received Hour of the Dawn and was produced by none other than Ryan Adams. Music is not the first time Wisenbaker and Adams have worked together; the La Sera guitarist contributed extensively to Adams’ Taylor Swift covers album.
In an interview with Consequence of Sound, the band spoke about the experience of recording the album live. “On this record it was live, so it can’t be perfect to a grid,” Wisenbaker explained. “When you’re recording in ProTools, you’re thinking about other things. It’s not an art performance — it’s a math equation you want to sound perfect.”
“Recording live is a little stressful,” Goodman chimed in, adding, “I think Todd is the reason why this record is so good. Not many people could pull off what he did here, and he wouldn’t say that, so I thought I would.”
