Early singles “Thank God For Girls” and “Do You Wanna Get High?” suggest that Weezer are returning to their roots on The White Album, due out this spring. However, I wouldn’t necessarily rule out a new LP of hip-hop bangers.

Judging by his Instagram account, frontman Rivers Cumo has *really* been into Billboard hip-hop hits lately. A few weeks back, he shared a cover of Rae Sremmurd’s “Come Get Her”; today, he’s posted his take on Fetty Wap’s “Trap Queen”.

It’s pretty nuts that Weezer would offer a $25,000 pre-order bundle that includes a Galapagos trip with Cuomo, but I’d venture to say that hearing him yearningly sing, “Somebody come tip her, she’s dancing like a stripper,” or “I get high with my baby/ I just left the mall, I’m gettin’ fly with my baby,” is pretty wild too. (The next logical cover would be “Hotline Bling”, amirite?)
