Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Blood Brothers supergroup Head Wound City announce new album, share “Scraper” — listen

First official release since 2005 arrives in May

Head Wound City, the supergroup led by Nick Zinner of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Cody Votolato and Jordan Billie of The Blood Brothers, haven’t released new music since their 2005 self-titled EP. That changes this spring, however, as the band, which is rounded out by The Locust’s Justin Pearson, will put out its full-length debut called A New Wave of Violence.

The LP spans 10 tracks, with titles such as “Born to Burn”, “Closed Casket”, and “Love is Best”. Produced by Ross Robinson, it was written in just the span of seven days and takes its name from a 1982 Raymond Pettibon zine, as Pitchfork notes. That’s the artwork above.

Ahead of its May 13th release date through Vice, the album is teased this week with a savage noise-rock jam aptly dubbed “Scraper”. Stream it below.
