After performing marathon concert, Bruce Springsteen wrote young fan a tardy note for school

Bruce Springsteen concerts typically go late into the night, and all that singing, dancing, and lighter flickering leave fans more exhausted than your average rock show. Which makes waking up the next morning somewhat difficult. Fortunately, a fourth-grader named Xabi Glovsky had a tardy note to give his teacher, written by none other than Springsteen himself.

“Bruce sat down on a couch and started to talk with Xabi, asking for the name of his teacher and how Xabi spelled his name, pulling out a piece of paper and a pen,” Scott Glovsky told Backstreets.

“As Xabi sat next to him on the couch, Bruce thoughtfully and artistically created this beautiful note. It was very interesting to watch the artist at work. They talked for a few minutes, and Bruce was incredibly nice, caring and gracious.”

The note read, “Dear Ms. Jackson, Xabi has been out very late rocking and rolling. Please excuse him if he is tardy!”

While the tardy note written by Patrick Pipino still has him in contention for father of the year, nothing beats an excuse from The Boss himself.
