Billy Corgan has been pulling out all sorts of unexpected moments during Smashing Pumpkins’ latest tour. Over the weekend, he reunited with James Iha and original Pumpkins drummer Jimmy Chamberlin, performing a series of Siamese Dream classics. It turns out that a few days prior in San Francisco, Corgan treated fans to another surprise.
During a VIP experience Q&A and intimate acoustic performance, Corgan debuted a brand new song. With lyrics including the refrain “Bless me” uttered over and over, the track has a mournful streak that’s cleaned ever so slightly with hope. Corgan’s stiff strumming gives the impression of a brown leather-clad loner walking down a dusty path, dejected and burning. Check it out below.
