Remember Nicolas Cage in 2005’s Lord of War? The one with Ethan Hawke and that Portishead song? Well, swap the Leaving Las Vegas hunk out with Oscar nominee Jonah Hill and Whiplash bro Miles Teller and you’ve got yourself a War Dogs, baby.
After slaving away at three Hangover films, director Todd Phillips returns with this true story action comedy that follows two Miami Beach 20-somethings who exploit a US government initiative that welcomes small businesses to bid on military contracts. It’s all fun and games until somebody gets hurt, right?
Screenwriters Stephen Chin, Phillips, and Jason Smilovic based the film on a Rolling Stone article by Guy Lawson titled, “Arms and the Dudes”. Knock Knock star Ana de Armas and Limitless babe Bradley Cooper are also ready to party.
