Last week, we saw ASAP Rocky and ASAP Ferg appear on HBO’s animated series Animals in the form of rapping bodega cats. In the latest episode, guitar virtuoso Kurt Vile joins the show’s crazy cast of anthropomorphic creatures as a cuddly squirrel, as Pitchfork points out.
Like art imitating life, Squirrel Vile has long hair and devoted fans, loves his hometown of Philadelphia, and can string together a hazy, noodling jam about — what else? — nuts. Here’s hoping Human Vile breaks out this track during one of his shows someday, complete with a backdrop of cascading cashews.

Vile has also added new tour dates to his upcoming tour, which kicks off next week. Update – Monday, April 4th at 1:50 p.m. CT: Vile has added even more dates taking place in August.
