Maynard James Keenan is a lot of things. He’s the frontman of Puscifer, A Perfect Circle, and (whether he likes it or not) Tool. He also happens to be a purple belt in Brazilian jui-jitsu.
Keenan has been known to mix a judo toss or two into his live shows, but he doesn’t just use the moves for showmanship. The rocker is the real deal, and he even had a thing or two to teach professional MMA fighter Cat Zingano. The No. 5 ranked pound-for-pound female fighter and Kennan have been training and practicing together for a few months. Recently, the two tussled after soundcheck for one of Puscifer’s show’s and Kenna showed Zingano some tricks for bringing down your opponent.
