Beats 1 Radio episode also featured reflections from OutKast and Kendrick Lamar

Q-Tip dedicated the latest episode of his Beats 1 radio show to A Tribe Called Quest group mate Phife Dawg, who passed away this week at the age of 45.

As Pitchfork points out, Q-Tip played a two-hour mix of A Tribe Called Quest music, including live performances and remixes from the 2015 reissue of People’s Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm. The episode also featured tributes from several prominent MCs, including André 3000 and Big Boi, who revealed A Tribe Called Quest to be their main inspiration for forming OutKast. Meanwhile, Kendrick Lamar, who previously paid tribute to Phife Dawg during his concert in Australia, said “Scenario” is his favorite song of all time.
