On Thursday night, The Last Shadow Puppets launched their world tour in support of the forthcoming Everything You’ve Come to Expect. After ripping through material new and old, the band came back onto the stage at Cambridge, England’s Corn Exchange for their encore.
With the crowd chanting “Alex Turner, duh duh du-duh!”, the band went into a cover of the classic Beatles track “I Want You (She’s So Heavy)”. Miles Kane and Turner took turns at their mics for the track, delivered with such perfect sensuality and smokiness that it comes of as one of the most well-handled and appropriate live covers you’ll ever see.
