Tom Petty announces new Mudcrutch album and tour, streams “Trailer” — listen

The band's first record in eight years arrives in May

Tom Petty has confirmed details of a new album from Mudcrutch, his pre-Heartbreakers band with Mike Campbell, Tom Leadon, Randall Marsh, and Benmont Tench. Aptly titled Mudcrutch 2, the band’s sophomore album will see release on May 20th.

Mudcrutch 2 arrives eight years after the band’s debut full-length. Its release coincides with a US tour kicking off in late May.

As a first listen, Mudcrutch have broken off “Trailer”, a twangy, nostalgia-filled rocker. Listen below.
