It’s crazy what a few years can do. Not so long ago, the boys of Twin Peaks were getting turned away at bar shows in Chicago for being underage. Now they’re veterans of Lollapalooza and SXSW, all set to release their upcoming third studio album, Down in Heaven, on May 13th via Grand Jury.
They shared the first single off that album, “Walk to the One You Love”, back in February, and now they’ve come roaring back with another song called “Butterfly”. The track showcases Twin Peaks’ growing proclivity for out-and-out pop. It’s a swinging rock tune complete with vocal harmonies, the requisite amount of fuzz, and a simple chord progression that lends itself to getting down. The band has also announced an extension of their upcoming tour, including a string of dates opening for bowling champions Cage the Elephant.
