Woods will release City Sun Eater in the River Light on April 8th. However, the Brooklyn outfit’s ninth LP just be coming to you on MP3, vinyl or even CD; it’ll also be available via skateboard.
The band has teamed with Habitat to create a unique skateboard deck stylized with the City Sun Eater artwork. It’s a pretty sweet looking deck, and at $53.99, not a bad deal if you’re a fan of eclectic psych-folk and shredding on concrete. Pre-orders for the board are ongoing and includes a digital download of the album.
In addition to the news of the skateboard, Woods have shared a third single off the record. Compared to past tracks “Sun City Creeps” and “Can’t See it All” highlighted the expanded palette of the band’s music into funky and world sounds, “Morning Light” plays like a classic psych-folk number. It floats on moaning guitar notes and burns warm like a Midwestern sunset. Take a listen below.
