Today marks the release of Andrew Bird’s latest record, Are You Serious, and the indie folk stalwart is celebrating with a new video for album cut “Capsized”.
Director Tyler Manson places Bird in a dream world that, in its own way, mirrors the befuddlement of the song’s lyrics. There’s disarray, the feeling like someone is targeting you, and a desperation that’s almost palpable. Bird may be in the familiar setting of a theater, but he feels as lost and confused as ever, much like one does right after a breakup. And yes, there is a scene of Bird spooning dirty laundry.
