On Thursday night at Chicago’s Lincoln Hall, Consequence of Sound and Red Bull Sound Select hosted an interstellar bill featuring Nashville singer-songwriter Torres (aka Mackenzie Scott), Wisconsin surrealist Boom Forest (aka John Paul Roney), and Portland post-punk outfit and recent CoSign, Sioux Falls.
Given the morning’s tragic news of Prince’s passing, the entire evening took on a rather somber tone, but the hundreds of attendees still managed to celebrate The Purple One’s spirit by reveling in the company of strangers and getting through this thing we call life. It was a finicky thing.
