Look, we all know director Roland Emmerich loves to play Dr. Destruction in his movies. In the original Independence Day, he decimated three of America’s major cities, and that was just on screen.
But goddamn it, Earth really has zero chance in the sequel, Independence Day: Resurgence. Judging from the latest trailer, we’re absolutely and totally fucked; what’s worse, Will Smith is not even around to save us.
Instead, we’ve got Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, Judd Hirsch, Vivica A. Fox, and Brent Spiner returning, along with newcomers Liam Hemsworth, Jessie Usher, Maika Monroe, Sela Ward, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Joey King, and William Fichtner.
