Everyone who’s ever seen Tim Burton’s timeless horror comedy Beetlejuice knows Michael Keaton plays a great villain. It’s all in his manic tendencies, the way he’s able to go from 0-160 without a moment’s notice.
Well, Sony’s feeling rather nostalgic because they’re eyeing the Oscar nominee to fill in the shoes of whatever villain will fight Marvel’s infamous webslinger in their second reboot, Spider-Man: Homecoming.
According to Variety, the actor’s only “in early talks,” so don’t get too excited just yet, but you know how those discussions go: “Here’s a lot of fucking money. Come and play with us. Yada, yada, yada.”
To play Devil’s advocate, it would be somewhat disappointing to see the guy do the one thing he rebelled against in Alejandro González Iñárritu’s Birdman. But on the other hand, whatever.
Right now, The Playlist speculates he could play Vulture, aka one of the last vintage villains in Spidey’s rogues gallery to hit the silver screen. But, what do you think? My money’s on Kraven.
Just kidding.
