In anticipation of today’s release of Weezer (The White Album), Weezer (the band) appeared on The Tonight Show Thursday night to perform “King of the World”. Though the anthemic single ranks among the album’s weaker tracks, the band’s cathartic performance seems to confirm a fact we’ve suspected for some time now: Weezer is once again a band worth talking about. Update – Friday, April 1st at 3:05 p.m. CT: Earlier today, Weezer performed “King of the World” on Good Morning America, this time sans Elvis outfit.

Weezer (The White Album) drops today, April 1st, via Crush Music. The self-titled album follows the surprise comeback record Everything Will Be Alright in the End, which Consequence of Sound named one of the Top 50 Albums of 2014. It also continues Weezer’s long-cherished tradition of designating albums by color; previous iterations include The Blue Album, The Green Album, and The Red Album.
In support, Weezer will hit the road this summer.
