This month, alternative country singer Sturgill Simpson is back with his third LP, A Sailor’s Guide to Earth. In support, he served as musical guest on last night’s episode of the Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
Sturgill performed the album’s latest single, “Brace for Impact (Live a Little)”, embodying the rich lushness of his record with a twang of country cheekiness. Prior to that, however, he helped Colbert pay the bills by penning an original song for Waffle House called “No Shirt, No Shoes, No Knuckleheads”.
