Thousands of fans across the world have been gathering together following the news of Prince’s passing. For the past 24 hours, memorial block parties have popped up in celebration of the legacy the Purple One left behind, though perhaps none were as big or as moving as that in his home state of Minnesota.
Last night, thousands of the Prince faithful gathered in downtown Minneapolis to pay tribute to the late legend. With the bridges and buildings around them lit up in purple lights, the huge crowd joined their voices together in a powerful chorus of “Purple Rain”. Voices all over the globe have been echoing classics like this all day, but to hear so many of them together in the very state Prince loved most is the most fitting singalong of all.
