Last year marked the 20th anniversary of Chris Farley and David Spade’s iconic road trip comedy, Tommy Boy. To celebrate, Consequence of Sound‘s Editor in Chief Michael Roffman and Senior Staff Writer Jay Ziegler reunited and sat down with director Peter Segal for an hour-long interview discussing the film’s production, themes, and legacy.
Well, a few excellent folks at truTV saw the article and invited Roffman to be a part of their truInside series. For two months, they’ve chronicled a number of landmark comedies and laugh factories — from Airplane! to Fast Times at Ridgemont High, The Groundlings to the Comedy Cellar — and last night they, too, blew out the candles on Tommy Boy.
Featuring never-before-seen footage and outtakes, the 10th episode in the series features interviews with Segal, writer Fred Wolf, actors Brian Dennehy, Zach Grenier, David Huband, and Lorri Bagley, comedians Kevin Farley, Taran Killam, and Kenan Thompson, in addition to critics Matt Singer and Katla McGlynn. Rest assured, there’s more.
