Actor, adventurer, and perennial attention-seeker Shia LaBeouf has taken to the road as part of his latest performance art project. Using the Twitter hashtag #TakeMeAnywhere, LaBeouf is tweeting out his GPS coordinates and letting fans pick him up and take him anywhere they’d like.
If you want to share a road trip with LaBeouf and his fellow artists Nastja Säde Rönkkö and Luke Turner, all you have to do is hightail it to his current location and hope somebody else hasn’t made it there first. The 30-day project runs from May 23rd through June 23rd and is being documented in real time on takemeanywhere.vice.com.
As Time reports, some of the people who have already traveled with LaBeouf have some pretty batshit stories to share. On Monday, a group of fans picked up him in Colorado and were rewarded with a free lunch at Lyons microbrewery Oskar Blues. During their time together, LaBeouf reportedly confessed that his father was a circus clown who used to juggle chickens for a living.
“He was talking about his upbringing and how he was raised by a single mother,” said Brandon Glanton, a 26-year-old artist from Denver. “To have everyone sitting down there, having lunch with him, it was so cool that he was so receiving. He was more humble than you can ever imagine.”
LaBeouf also repeatedly referred to himself as a mirror, asked not to be fed rat poison, and confessed that he is scared to go skydiving. What other mysteries will fans squeeze out of this latter-day Jack Kerouac? Only time will tell.
