Run the Jewels only began working on their new album last winter, but it appears they’re just months away from a release date. In a new interview with HipHopWired, Killer Mike revealed that they’re aiming to put out Run the Jewels 3 by year’s end.

“I would like to be finished by July 7,” he said of the follow-up to 2014’s incomparable Run the Jewels 2. “I would like to ball on the 4th. I think we’ll be done real soon. People know when we say soon, we’re trying to get it out. We want it out this year.”

Run the Jewels have teased the forthcoming LP with the occasional studio snippet. The hip-hop duo also debuted a new song called “Scenes” at Coachella this past April, which you can revisit below.

RTJ3 also follows last September’s Meow the Jewels, an album comprised entirely of cat sounds, as well as the two-piece’s recent collaboration with DJ Shadow, “Nobody Speak”.
