The US leg of Adele’s 25 tour rolled through St. Paul, Minnesota on Tuesday, and the pop star made sure to pay homage to the city’s hometown hero, Prince.
Prior to her encore, Adele dipped into the backstage area in order to give the spotlight to the High Priest of Pop, whose music video for classic cut “The Most Beautiful Girl in the World” was projected in full on the stage’s backdrop. “Did you enjoy that Prince video?” Adele asked the audience upon returning, as EW.com notes. “I did consider covering a song but then I was like, ‘Fuck it, it’s Prince!”
The singer’s team supposedly also considered censoring the visual, but Adele — certainly no stranger to graphic content — decided otherwise. “You can’t censor Prince in his hometown!” she said.
