Brooklyn based alt-rock trio EZTV released a stellar debut in 2015’s Calling Out, and within the one year since they quickly went to work on its follow up. Their sophomore effort, High in Place, will arrive September 30th from Captured Tracks. Today, they shared the lead single off the upcoming release, titled “High Flying Faith”.
The trio’s vintage vibe is largely due to their recording process, which this time around involved an old tape machine. And to add thicker texture to the record, they enlisted a variety of collaborators such as Chris Cohen, Real Estate’s Martin Courtney and Matt Kallman, Quilt’s John Andrews, Nic Hessler, and Mega Bog, and finally Jenny Lewis — who delicately harmonizes with frontman Ezra Tenenbaum on the chorus of “High Flying Faith” — a song that was inspired by the lyrics of Skip Spence’s “Broken Heart”.
