Chief among them was the standalone Wonder Woman film starring Gal Gadot as Diana Prince. As you can see from the trailer above, the film promises plenty of action by the long sought after heroine.

The film, directed by Patty Jenkins (Monster), serves as an origin story for the Amazonian princess, who is raised by her mother Queen Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen) to be a formidable fighter. She receives her calling when an American pilot named Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) crashes on the island and informs her of a world war taking place.

Written by Allan Heinberg and Geoff Johns, the film will serve as the fourth installment in the DC Extended Universe, following 2013’s Man of Steel, this past March’s Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, and next month’s Suicide SquadRobin Wright, Lucy Davis, Lisa Loven Kongsli, Danny Huston, and David Thewlis also co-star.
