Guy Ritchie turns King Arthur legend into Guy Ritchie movie — watch

The trailer for King Arthur: Legend of the Sword boasts all of the director's charms

Guy Ritchie has a particular style.

The English filmmaker and former Madonna spouse tends to make every one of his characters a fast-talking brute with an oh-so-cheeky sense of humor. What started in 1998 with Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels has continued through literally every project he’s touched since, from 2000’s Snatch onward to Sherlock Holmes and beyond.

Now he’s back, after a curious (if not forgettable) turn last year with The Man from U.N.C.L.E., to bring his sense of flair to the legend of King Arthur. It’s called King Arthur: Legend of the Sword and is purportedly the first of multiple films that may or may not come to fruition based on this summer’s past returns with sequels.

Nonetheless, the film stars Sons of Anarchy hunk Charlie Hunnam as the titular warrior, who will swing his beloved Excalibur alongside a stellar cast that includes Jude LawÀstrid Bergès-FrisbeyDjimon Hounsou, Eric BanaAidan Gillen, Annabelle Wallis, Mikael Persbrandt, and soccer stud David Beckham.
