Netflix shares first footage, release date for Gilmore Girls revival — watch

Lorelai and Rory return on Black Friday

Gilmore Girls

Any sane person already avoids the chaos of Black Friday, but here’s one more reason to stay inside that day: Netflix has confirmed a November 25th release of its upcoming revival of Gilmore Girls.

Additionally, the streaming giant has provided the first footage of Lorelai and Rory together since the show signed off the air in 2007. The delightful banter between TV’s greatest mother and daughter is on full display in this preview, as Lorelai wonders whether she could be friends with Amy Schumer. Watch above.

The forthcoming revival will consist of four 90-minute episodes, each set in a different season of the year. Many of the original cast members are set to return, including Lauren Graham (Lorelai), Alexis Bledel (Rory), Scott Patterson (Luke), Kelly Bishop (Grandma Emily), Melissa McCarthy (Sookie), Sean Gunn (Kirk), and Keiko Agena (Lane). Creator Amy Sherman-Palladino, who was famously fired before the show’s seventh and final season, will return to write and direct each episode of the series.
