Innocence Reaches is the upcoming album from of Montreal, due to arrive in just a few weeks via Polyvinyl Records. The follow-up to last year’s Aureate Gloom was teased last month with lead single “It’s Different For Girls“; now, another selection has been revealed in “My Fair Lady”.
“Because you were damaged, I have to give all the love that was meant for you to somebody else,” Kevin Barnes, the psych pop outfit’s leader bemoans over an arrangement that marries funk and glam rock in happy yet off-kilter harmony. The band eventually succumbs to its own emotions, drowning in a whirlwind of an outro led by Barnes’ obsessive chanting of “‘Cause you changed…’cause you changed…’cause you changed…”

Innocence Reaches hits stores on August 12th. In support, the Altanta group will tour the US this fall.
