At least 80 people were killed, and hundreds others injured, when a large truck drove through a crowd gathered to watch a Bastille Day fireworks celebration in Nice, France.

While many details are as yet unknown, French president François Hollande declared the incident a terrorist attack and called the deliberate killing of so many people “a monstrosity.”

In the wake of this tragedy, Rihanna has canceled a concert scheduled in Nice on Friday night. Christian Estrosi, the mayor of Nice and president of the regional government, confirmed the show’s cancelation on Twitter. A local jazz festival has also been called off.

Update: Nice Jazz Festival — featuring performances from Robert Plant, George Clinton, and Massive Attack — has been canceled. Additionally, Massive Attack have canceled their own show in Nice.
