Instrumental rockers Russian Circles are gearing up for the release of their sixth studio album, Guidance, which follows 2013’s Memorial. The upcoming release, due out August 5th through Sargent House, was recorded at GodCity Studios in Salem, Massachusetts and mixed by studio founder Kurt Ballou. The album’s trailer can be viewed above.
The lead single, “Vorel”, landed a spot on Consequence of Sound’s Top 10 Songs of the Week. Now, they’ve shared a second single in “Mota”. Unlike “Vorel”, which clashed and clanged in unrelenting calamity, “Mota” begins on a whimsical note. The song starts off more melodious and slowly builds in intensity and tempo, as if constantly reaching a new chapter in a thriller novel — it’s a sonic page turner. Listen below.
