Chicago’s own Ryley Walker will release his new record, Golden Sings That Have Been Sungthis August 19th via Dead Ocean. The announcement of the follow-up to last year’s excellent Primrose Green came with the lead single, “The Halfwit in Me”. Now, the indie songwriter has shared the next single, “The Roundabout”.

Instead of the jazzy folk of the first track from the album, “The Roundabout” swirls on dusty, slightly psychedelic vibes. It’s like the patterns you see in the sawdust on the floor of some dimly lit dive just as the booze starts loosing the valves in your head. And as the night rolls on, the patterns just get more intricate, more layered, and more yet oddly familiar. “I take the roundabout because I like to see my house,” Walker sings in his conversational tone. “Number four, number five, number six, number seven/ And number eight.”

Take a listen to the track below.
