T.J. Miller may be recognizable to fans for his outrageously droll facial expressions in the likes of Silicon Valley and Deadpool, but his next role will have him being a bit more meh. The comedic actor has joined the voice cast for Sony’s forthcoming animated feature, EmojiMovie: Express Yourself.

Miller will play Gene, a young emoji who expected to be a “meh” just like his parents. However, he suffers a glitch that causes him to be too optimistic and display various emotions across his round, yellow face. As Variety put it, “Of course, he wants to be normal, but will his ‘glitch’ end up being a gift?”

You can watch Miller “audition” for the role in the video below. EmojiMovie: Express Yourself is aiming for an August 11th, 2017 release with director Anthony Leondis (Igor) working from a script he wrote with Eric Siegel (Men at Work).
