It took 16 years for The Avalanches to return with a new album, as the band dealt with health problems, band member departures, lawsuits, and issues with sampling clearance. It appeared the band finally overcame these obstacles with the release Wildflower and subsequent booking of festival appearances. Now, though, The Avalanches’ reunion has again been derailed once again as Tony Di Blasi is dealing with a medical condition that prohibits him from touring.

According to the band’s Facebook page, Di Blasi “has been advised against international travel for the next few months.” As a result, scheduled tour dates in Europe — including Lowlands Festival in the Netherlands, Fort de Saint-Pére in France, and Sweden’s Way Out West Festival — have been postponed.

The Avalanches will go ahead with their headlining appearance at Splendour in the Grass Festival in their native Australia, scheduled for late July.
