Next month marks the release of Boy King, the fifth studio effort from Wild Beasts. The UK outfit previously teased the album with lead single “Get My Bang”; today, the indie rockers have let loose a new offering in “Big Cat”.

“If ‘Get My Bang’ was a song of the id then ‘Big Cat’ is the ego,” frontman Hayden Thorpe said in a press release. “It marked a breakthrough in the writing process for the album, defining the swagger and attitude that would come to shape Boy King. He is all powerful, but at what price?”

Slinky and boastful (“Big cat, top of the food chain”), the track is also accompanied by its official music video. It’s directed by Pablo Maestres and features intense thunderstorms, blazing cars, advertisements that talk, and, of course, a host of tough, predatory animals.
