In a new interview on the Rap Radar podcast (via DJ Booth), Epic Records mogul L.A. Reid revealed that Phife, Q-Tip, Ali Shaheed Muhammad, and Jarobi White had reunited in the studio to record their first album in 18 years. “[It is] a brand new album that they recorded before Phife passed away,” Reid said. “I’m really happy about it man, it’s really something special. It’s one of the things I’m most excited about over everything we’re working on.”

Though there’s been no official announcement or any further details, if the record does see release, it will be the seminal group’s first since 1998’s The Love Movement. Representatives for neither A Tribe Called Quest nor Epic Records have yet to make a statement about the potential LP.
