Arcade Fire have covered “Born in the USA” by Bruce Springsteen before, like in 2009 during President Obama’s Staff Ball. It made a lot of sense there; it was a liberal American classic performed during an event thrown by a democratic president. AF’s rendition of the song during last month’s WayHome Festival was a bit different.

Think about it: Arcade Fire are arguably Canada’s largest modern rock band, and they were performing at one of the country’s biggest (and newest!) destination music festivals. And there they go playing a distinctly American hit. Still, The Boss is The Boss for a reason, and even the Canucks were game for a singalong to a little “Born in the USA”. Plus, it was a sexy as hell intro to “Keep the Car Running”.
