Chris Brown has been arrested for felony assault with a deadly weapon, according to a spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department. The 27-year-old R&B singer allegedly pulled a gun on beauty pageant contestant Baylee Curran during a party inside his LA home on Monday evening.

Update – Wednesday, August 31st at 9:10 a.m. CT: Brown has been released on $250,000 bail. He’s due back in court on September 20th.

Brown’s arrest follows a multi-hour stand-off with Los Angeles SWAT on Tuesday. For several hours Tuesday, the singer was holed up inside his home, refusing to grant police access to search for the weapon. At one point, Brown threw a duffel bag out of a window. The duffel bag contained “at least one gun, other weapons and drugs,” according to police.

While barricaded inside, Brown taunted the police using social media. “I ain’t did shit. I ain’t going to do shit. And it’s always going to be … fuck the police … black lives matter ni**er,” he said. “I don’t care y’all going to stay playing with me like I’m the villain out here, like I’m going crazy. You guys got me fucked up though because good luck when you get the warrant or whatever you need to do. You’re going to walk right up in here and you’re going to see nothing you idiots. I’m tired of fucking dealing with you all, y’all the worst gang in the world, the police, and I said it.”

Brown also maintained that he was “innocent,” adding, “What I do care about is you are defacing my name and my character and integrity.”

Curran told TMZ that Brown pulled a gun and told her to leave after she began admiring jewelry displayed inside the residence. She also said that Brown refused to return her cell phone until she signed a non-disclosure agreement, which she refused to do. Brown’s camp disputed Curran’s story, saying that Brown was asleep at the time of the party.

Today’s arrest is just one of many legal issues that Brown has had over the years. In 2009, he plead guilty to felony assault after violently attacking his then-girlfriend Rihanna; because of his convicted felon status, he isn’t able to legally own a firearm. For the last few months, the “Grass Ain’t Greener” singer has been embroiled in not one, but two lawsuits. The first was filed by Suge Knight, after he sustained gun shots at a Brown-hosted party two years ago. Brown was then sued by his ex-manager, who claims the musician attacked him in May.
