CHVRCHES cover Rihanna and Calvin Harris’ “This Is What You Came For” for the BBC — watch

CHVRCHES recently swung by BBC’s Live Lounge for a session, where they tried their hand at more flashy club music. Taking their synthpop stylings up a couple of notches, Lauren Mayberry & her Glasgow mates took on “This Is What You Came For”, the smash hit from Rihanna and Calvin Harris (and Nils Sjöberg Taylor Swift). CHVRCHES’ arrangement is fun and lively enough, and theirs is a valiant effort, however, it’s quickly evident Rihanna’s and Mayberry’s vocal ranges and tones are nothing alike.
